A good irrigation system are very important for not only proper watering but also for proper drainage. The last thing you'd want after setting up your beautiful flower beds is to basically have a swamp in your backyard because of flooding and clogged drain. Sprinkler Systems - Stayin' Alive
The obvious: every plant, patch of grass, tree, and living thing in your landscaping needs water to survive.
Less obvious: different plantings and tress need different amounts of water. That simple "spray and pray" method of watering doesn't work for all of your plants. Standard bentgrass and bluegrass, sure, that'll work. But if you have mixture of perennials, cacti, and trees, then no, that won't work (Trust me, you might think that design sounds crazy, but not everyone has a sense of style... believe me).
Here is probably the best sprinkler tip:
Just like the city of Fullerton does, divide the property by zones. Different plants, as stated before, need different amounts of water, and incorporating this planning into your landscape design is a great way to make sure your plants are singing like the BeeGees.
The next best tip is making sure you don't water too much, and also do it in the morning twilight to early day (before 10am, usually). The water won't evaporate, and the plants will have the hydration they need to withstand the heat of the day while filling up their chloroplasts with delicious sunlight.
Automatic sprinklers are great for this reason, because you can program these little robots to maintain your lawn for you. For more information about sprinklers, and the best system for your situation, give us a call at 657-201-5786.
